Dr. Arlene Archer was born and raised in Toronto, Ontario, along with her two older sisters, in a pastoral family. After graduating from Crawford Adventist Academy, she made the decision to leave Canada and pursue her collegiate career at Oakwood University in Huntsville, Alabama. There, she obtained a Bachelors of Science degree in Psychology and then went on to obtain both a Master of Arts degree and Doctor of Psychology degree in Clinical Psychology at Argosy University in Atlanta, Georgia. Dr. Archer's theoretical specialization is in child and family therapy, with professional experience in diagnostic testing with diverse populations and treating adults dealing with interpersonal and developmental issues, as well as substance abuse, personality, and mood disorders.
After completing her terminal degree in 2005, she began teaching at her Alma Mater, Oakwood University, where she remained for the next three years. In 2008, Dr. Archer married Pastor Oliver Archer and subsequently moved to Berrien Springs, Michigan. Almost immediately, she resumed her teaching career at her husband's Alma Mater, Andrews University, and provided clinical services in forensic and private practice settings.
Dr. Archer has a strong interest in couple's counseling and enjoys ministering to young people, especially as it pertains to relationship and premarital issues. She also enjoys singing and using her musical gift to complement her husband's pastoral ministry.
